DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THE WINNERS!!!

So the winners have been announced - 50s Cliff, 60s Stones, 70s Queen, 80's Michael Jackson, 90's Robbie Williams.

I am surprised Robbie beat Nirvana, and I am not sure about Cliff, but the others seem about right . What do you all think?

(I realise it's all a load of nonsense anyway, but I enjoyed getting annoyed at the inclusions and omissions)

Brilliant for the Stones!  They beat the Beatles hands down in my book everytime.  I couldn't care less about the 80s and 90s.  (Or the 70s for that matter!).

What about a hall of fame for the 2Os and 30s etc?  Leadbelly, Robert Johnson, Son House etc......that would be harder to choose from!

Nice to know my music taste doesn't fit in with the rest of the UK ;o).  I'd not have voted for any of them given the selection, though they are all v good in their own right.
yeah it was about right i think, but Robbie wouldn't be my choice.  Oasis changed the music scene in the 90's, there will always be male solo artists singing pop songs like Bob.  p.s i think i would have plumped for buddy holly in the 50's.
Going to a public vote as it was, you could have rattled off that list before the start.  Personally, I'd have Bowie in there every time, there's hardly an artist on the go now who doesn't owe him something.  In terms of fame though, a spot-on selection.
Rolling Stones - pah!
Does anyone remember a little known band called Led Zepplin?
Question Author
yes but the 70s was a tough one - Pink Floyd, Bowie, Queen, Bee Gees, Abba, as well as Led Zeppelin - any of them would have deserve it for different reasons.

What about Jimmy Hendrix?

The Stones should've been in there from the start! The greatest band in the world! How the hell did U2 and Marley get automatic entry? ok, The Beatles and Elvis I can understand and I can even see the point of Madona being in there but the Stones are the greatest (obviously that's my own very honestest opinion)(and a very strong opinion too).

I think Oasis shoul be in the 90's.

The 70's was a hard one to call but I think maybe Queen just deserve it.

PS. What happens next year, do they just repeat the programe without those that were inducted, and then the same every year untill everyone gets in?

Oh, and apparently Ronnie Wood picked up the award for the Stones and he wasn't even in the band in the 60's!
david bowie, david bowie, david bowie, david bowie, david bowie, david bowie, david bowie, for the 70s and 80s and 90s. he has influenced evrybody, had the most images out of anyone, most original, talented interesting musician ever. robbie is just a commerical **** who does mass produced rubbish. queen, yes for the 70s true legends, cliff no, who likes him except for grannies. michael jackson, true legend as well.
Where were the most innovative band of the 90's - Radiohead. Where was the second most influential band of all time - Nirvana? Robbie Williams? cant even begin to believe it. Robbie Williams. Sorry I am flabberghasted. Stones - brilliant, 70's - Queen are the most overratted band ever. Zeppellin should have won it. 80's - Jacko - i suppose he deserves it. Tears for Fears or the Smiths were never gonna win it were they. These things are just time fillers for tv channels who have nothing else to put on. I saw the top 100 icons in world history last month. Guess who won - Mandela? Luther King? Churchill? David Beckham - nuff said.
