Hi years ago on Brian Mathew's Saturday morning Breakfast show
show on Radio 2 he played a track by the Shadows which he said was called "Cotton Picki'n" I have found the track and I am so dissapointed it sounds nothing like it ,the track he played was fast, finger clickin,thigh slappin, country wheeling good old electric guitar ,any ideas please .

Cotton Pickin' is certainly of the idiom you describe. Another possibility is "The Magical Mrs Clamps" from the Established 1958 LP.

thank you I tried "Thing-me jig" no not that one I shall try to find the Majical Mrs C .
Tha tune I heard is much faster, more of a reel .Maybe you could let me know if you think of any others.

When was it broadcast - approximately which year? That at least would help with what it couldn't be.

Hi It was approx 2000 it was a saturday morning between 8.30 & 9.30am I was quite surprised as I had not heard them do anything so different.I have been looking since then and only a few days ago I came across the title as I explained it was not the tune that I recall.
