Rappers and white t shirts

why is it that alot of rappers wear white t-shirts?

There is an emphasis on hip hop artists wearing pristine white clothes and trainers I think to show how they've 'made it' (some artists wearing trainers once then throwing them out).

On the other hand, in Eminem's video for The Real Slim Shady hundreds of fans were dressed like him with white T-shirts so it could also be seen as a way for fans to show some kind solidarity or rapport with rappers?

More interestingly, the reason early black rappers originally wore their trousers loose with the top of their underwear showing is a cultural trait that originated in prisons and chain gangs where black convicts were denied belts to make it harder for them to escape. It was later hijacked as by rap wannabes like Marky Mark who wanted to show off their Calvin Kleins.
