I'm gutted about Oasis
I know thers an opposing view thread but I really truly hope they can resolve this.
I so wanted to see them just once before they disbanded and its not gonna happen.
Somone should kick Liam up the arse as he has ridden on his brothers shirttails for too long and is way above his station.
Noel is extremely clever witty and relatively mild mannered as opposed to his wayward brother yet Liam-the 'ace lyricist' and tamboroine player is gonna keep it going -jog on Liam.

Ive seen Brucie twice and Simple Minds 4 times but Oasis escaped me and im truly gutted and am currently kicking my own arse.

NoK -ages ago before they got like the Rolling Stones -they are done now.If its not your bag thats fine but it cost us a tidy packet to go to Dublin to see them -waste of monet and Dublin was sh1te as well -full of immigrants with babies strapped to them begging yeuch!!
Mortartube -I hope they will reform but this time its Noel who's pulled the plug which makes me full of angst.
They dont have to do it for the money but I do hope they calm their jets and do it for the fans.
I appreciate theyre no everyones bag -hey some peeps like tak That (*blush*0 not that i would like but they have been the major rockers in the last decade or so and they wont be forgotten and I dare ya to dispute that.
Hey they are bigger than the Beatles !!

They are the Beatles. If you play guitar you will see how many Beatlesesqe chords they use. Except Cigarettes and Alcohol which basically ripped of Marc Bolans Chord riff.
I am a DJ and like most sorts. I definitely like rock, but they never seemed to have any energy or stage presence for me. Standing at a mic leaning forward with your hands behind your back is hardly a show to me.
They don't have to do it for money now, but it is a big pull later when only royalties come in and no newer income does.
Like many bands, They will probably be revered further when they are not makinng any new product.
Anyway there's lots of recoreded material you can enjoy from them.

Mortistube -that honestly was said tongue firmly in cheek re The Beatles :) Sorry you didnt get it.
Noel is an excellent lyticist and musician and for someone who is a DJ to diss basically the millions of people worldwide who enjoy their music shows and the one who come to your gigs- you dont have an appreciation of others catholic taste in music -which I though most DJs did apart from aga doo.Liam want Oasis nor was Noel so Liams stance at the mic was neither here nor there for the millions who enjoyed them.
Aww did ya Sahs-well and truly spewing now -I had the chances but they were young and I really thought I would get my chance -good one hun !! x

I've always been in two minds about Oasis.
Having grown up with The Beatles, I see the very obvious influences, but then you can see influences anywhere in music, and that is not an issue.
I always was fairly indifferent to them as a band - don't possess any albums, but when I saw them playing 'Rock And Roll Star' on TV, I was transifxed - what a song, it just all came together, and I began to see what people see in them.
I am sorry they have split - for the millins of fans who love them - but they may well climb over their differences in time - other bands have done so.
