Prince,he is one of the most prolific song writers of the last 30 years as well as being an excellent singer/performer.Ok so he's male and i'm female but you get my drift.lol

Dewey Bunnell lead singer and guitarist with America..........british born and just all round class.....saw them earlier in year in concert.....Brilliant!!

If dead singers are included, Hortense Schneider. What parts she created - Belle Helene and Grande Duchesse in particular. Feisty female roles who are better role models than the grand opera heroines who allow themselves to be pushed around by male relatives and then die!
