Odd question I know but:

Is 6C/42F Too cold for ambient room temp? At least for sleeping?

What temperature would you "wake up" because of? I.e. how cold would it have to get?

well people camp in the artic but they are in their sleeping bags and tents, and i'm sure the tmp is lower than that. I f i was snuggled up in 3 duvets, i probably wouldn't wake up, but if i was lying there naked i might

16 Celsius is what the HSE recommend for a working environment so probably a good guideline for your house. I stand to be corrected but I believe if you get too cold you are likely to just go into a deeper and deeper sleep and not wake up. The temperature immediately surrounding you, i.e in your bed / sleeping bag / whatever is the critical factor not that of the actual room.
