* Which act's name has changed by one letter in the five years between their only two top ten UK hits *
Knowing this quiz, it could be either albums or singles charts, and it may mean, dropped a letter or swopped a letter i.e the Rezillos/Revillos or Liberty X / Liberty
I have done the full A-Z of the Guinness books of hit singles and albums and the Virgin and NME equivalents, and not found the answer. I have found a few name changes and several chart histories that consist of only two top ten hits, but not for the same act. This question is driving me mad, so does anyone out there know of any acts who have slightly altered their name that I have missed Many Thanks
I've got it!!!
It's the B-52's!!! Their first top ten was Love Shack (1990) under the name the B-52's, and their second was (Meet) The Flintstones in 1994 under the name the BC-52's!!!! Ten points to me!!!
I am sorry squarbear but you obviosly haven't read the full question, and just because someone has kindly answered a question previously doesn't make their answer right, otherwise I wouldn't still be looking. For the record the Rezllios had neither a top ten album nor a top ten single and their chart history only lasted two years so they hardly fit the bill!
I was sure I knew the answer to this one.
For some reason I had ALWAYS been under the impression that the band "Transmission Vamp" changed their name to "Transvission Vamp" or vice versa. However, on checking, I now find that the name was "Transvision Vamp" and can't find any reference to any name change!
I will now drive myself mad with this one too, as it seems like one I should know!
I can remember Smokey changing to Smokie but they certainly had more than two top ten hits. I also remember a comedian changing his name slightly (someone like Mike Reid?)

mmm I suppose technically 90-94 is five years, although I cant help feeling the question setters are stretching it.On a sadder note how come everybody seems to only need a few. I hate this quiz!!!! (Roll on next years-maybe then ......(dreams wistfully))
Having calmed down,I suppose it's quite a clever question. (obviously the setters knew something I didn't about music (:())
well done on getting the answer gazza-can't get a link but if you google northern echo leisure superbrain the quiz should be first up
