Yet another I.E 8 question

I am having real problems with I.E8,after using it for ages,suddenly now its throwing a hissy fit every time I use it!After about 1/2 hour it closes down saying there was a problem.I thought it may be my new pc,but the same thing happened with the old one when I re connected that.I have installed Firefox and Opera,could that be a problem?Also the spell checker on Firefox seems to not be working,any ideas?Thanks!

Perhaps firewall is preventing it from working as it should? Or you need to update the hot-fixes or patches?

I have seen problems like this with IE when Windows is not fully patched.
Can happen in a new computer while it is still working toward installing all the updates to Windows.
