This is really vague, but here goes. Can anyone remember an ad. I think from about 10-15 years ago (not sure) I think it was for tyres. As I remember it featured a "the doors" track playing in the back ground and was a really visually striking. Think the tyre went through fire at one point, and I might have dreamt this bit, but I seem to remember small children dressed as cherubs and men dressed as gold buddas. Sounds weird I know but it was a really cool ad. and I would love to try and download it. P.s I seem to think "the doors" track was "the end" but I could be wrong.

CHEERS!

Can't remember the tyre brand but the track was "Venus in Furs" by The Velvet Underground and it was directed by Tony Kaye who went on to make "American History X"
It was for Pirelli, and yep, it was Venus in Furs. I loved it so much I went and bought the album just for that one track. Good luck finding it to download. :o)

cheers for the track name. but it's the advert site i was after most. any thoughts?

The music was indeed 'Venus in Furs' by the Velvet Underground.

The advert itself was often used in consumer surveys that measured people's perception to advertising in general. It seemed that very few people (in the survey sample) would remember what was actually being advertised, and many others incorrectly stated it was an advert for a car.

After these results, the advertising industry realised that it was entirely possible to lose the message by being "too bloody clever by half"!

It obviously did fail to get people to remember the brand then! It was for Dunlop tyres and can be found here:
