Auschwitz series Incidental music

In the BBC2 series "Auschwitz: the Nazis & the "Final Solution" shown on Tues nights there is a 3 note motif played on synthisised organs (I think) as part of the incidental music.

I think it was possibly written by a Polish composer and was a big hit in the classical world when it was released about 5 yrs ago........it was played a lot on Classic FM. Can anyone tell me what it is and who the composer is please?
