Delete Microsoft silverlight from downloads

I decided to listen to one of the radio channels on my apple imac and had to download Microsoft silverlight to do so as it said I did not have a plug in to listen. How do I get rid of this which is showing in my finder icon. When installing it has changed my safari heading bar and put all sorts of things like, music videos, tv, south africa 2010 at the top and I really do not want this. I am a fairly new apple user so could you please explain to me in simple terms.

i have this but you must have not ticked don't install some tool bar or other when downloading it
look in add / remove progs see if you have a toolbar installed delete it
if you delete silverlight you may still have to delete the toolbar as well if you haven't before hand
