calling in sick during 6 months probabtion period.

I am feeling very unwell today and am due in work tomorrow. I am considering calling my boss and pre-warning him that I may not be in work tomorrow as I am feeling unwell.

I am contracted to work Thursday and Fridays, but he asked me a few weeks ago if I would increase my hours and work and extra day. I agreed but said I don't want this put into my contract for now.

I am very reluctant to call in sick tomorrow, but as I am not contracted to work on a Tuesday anyway, then it would not go on my records as me calling in sick. I don't want to let my new employer down but I am genuinely feeling unwell.
Any advice would be appreciated. Muchlovex

I don't think you should go in to work if you feel unwell.
You will only pass on whatever you have.
If you ring your boss today and let him know that you are likely to be off tomorrow, but that if you feel any better you will make an effort to be in, then I think that shows that you are being as reasonable and thoughtful as you can be.
A single day's sickness in a 6 month probation period should not have any effect on your later contract.
