The "Right Honourable" Rip-Off Robbers!!!

"Age of austerity" / "Unavoidable job losses" / "We all have to pull our belts in" "Tuition fees tripled" "Benefits scroungers to be rooted out"
The country has heard all the above utterances, and a damned sight more, over the past six months from MPs, particularly those in the coalition government.
The process is beginning to bite and many of us are, or soon will be, feeling the financial pinch - big time!
So, just what kind of lead are MPs showing us? Same old, same old! They're still ripping us off by finding new ways of getting their grubby, grasping paws on our money!
What other democracy would tolerate such barefaced theft so stoically as we do?
Apart from outright anarchy or revolution, how can these leeches be brought to book?

Seem's what is happening is that some MPs own properties which they rent out to make money in the same way that thousands of other people do.
The suggestion is that they should turf out their tennants and live there themselves?
You might as well ban any MP from having any investment shares or savings that they could use to buy a second home.
These are expenses designed to cover outgoings that they incur as part of being an MP if they were not MPs they would still be able to profit from renting out the properties.
I fear the Mail has caught you out.
If you want to complain about MPs I suggest you complain about the fact that the IPSA that is replacing the fees office is not going to be publishing MPs business expense receipts.

jake As I understand it I think the point is that they rent them out after they have them refurbished at our expense and presumably at a much higher rent. The other point is that the property they are now using for themselves is only a short distance from their old one, so they didn't need to move in the first place. So they get it both ways we pay the rent on their new property and they pocket the rent from their old one.
