Recording iplayer

Sorry, I know ...boring and has been asked a few times but I can't find in any of the replies a pointer to decent recording software. I tried one of them but the pic quality was p!ss poor.

So my question is this: what is the DEFINITIVE recording software for capturing/downloading bbc iplayer videos (if any) ?

I've been trying this recently AP ........... tried a couple of screen capture applications. Easy to use but with a lot of screen stutter. There must be a lot of processing going on. Perhaps with a much faster machine maybe.

Applian Replay Capture Suite talks a good game but is not free. I haven't used it.

Don't bother. Everything is repeated ad nauseum so you will be able to record it from your tv soon enough.
If it were too easy to download, bbc would simply shut down iPlayer.
