Take That 'The Flood'

Whats that all about? Good song, but the lyrics sound like a football chant 'now they'll never dance again'.

I can listen to songs hundreds of times without ever really taking any notice of the lyrics. (Like Ronald Reagan's campaign team, I'd always assumed that 'Born in the USA' was an anthem in praise of American identity until someone pointed out that it's exactly the opposite!).

So, until I googled the lyrics of 'The Flood', I'd got no idea what your post was about:

However I'm now curious to know exactly what type of illicit substance the writer must have been on when he created what looks like the worst type of poetry from the hippy era!

Glad its not just me Chris. As you say listening to the song without thinking about the words makes it seem a catchy little number. One of those that you hear on the radio every time you turn it on and sing along with one or two prominent lines.
