Does anyone know why at some live concerts perhaps with two drum sets on stage that one is sometimes surrounded by a clear wall of plexiglass or something. thanks

Sound can also 'bleed' into ambient microphones, placed to pick up resoncences from the whole kit, which again will pick up rogue vibrations from the other kit, so simply physically separating each kit makes it easier to maintain clear sound from each.
