only limewire has been shut down now. Amazon is an alternative to itunes, and they do free stuff, though obviously not mainstream.

downloading cost would be on your internet connexion. The cost of music would be due to the site they use. Approx 69p track on itunes.

cazzz no idea, have never seen an ipod, itchy phoned me up and asked could a young lad have my internet connection details so that when he was near me he could get on the internet.
i do not use a wi fi connection and said it would be a waste of time giving him any details.
i wondered if it was some kind of scam , thing is ichty and this lad no nothing about computers.

if he was in a wifi place can he get free music and risk a virus or should he pay for his music and stay safe .

please remember i have never seen an ipod and no nothing about them

sounds like he just wants your router details and security code so he can access your internet.

cant see how he gets free music on an ipod this way

cazzz he has had a free laptop from school but it blocks some sites, he also had a dongle that he could use.
i am wondering if someone has put him up to this as he is after a few peoples info

To me too. Once he has your info, if he downloads any dicey stuff, porno, copyright material etcet, it's your responsibility as you are the subscriber!

you're misleading us DrF....it wont cost you if he's on wifi but he needs your codes to use your 'air waves'. Now dont be an IT grump & hand it over :)

Have you got a modem like BT Broadband....they're all wifi. Its just your pc that's not wifi.

my BT BB is free wifi & my lappy is wifi. I have passed my connexion code to d'ter for her ipod & wifi pc when she & her friends are here. They all connect up to my modem.
