How did we get the now well known chorus line "who the f*** is Alice" in Smokie's famous song?

I took my mum to see Dennis Lecorriere a few years back and supporting him was Smokie(I thought they were both brilliant)but when it came to him singing living next door to Alice the majority of the audience sang "Who the f**k is Alice" in the middle,mum was devastated!!!!Good ole chubby brown

Sadly, boys and girls, it's NOTHING to do with Roy "Chubby" Brown at all, despite the big man performing on the re-worked version with the band.

It all started with fans of Smokie demanding to know who Alice was when sung at a concert - It's never been explained who Alice was - or if she even exists.
