Dire Straights

My fave band at the moment. Always knew of them but I have just started listening to a couple of their albums and I am blown away!

I'm definitely a Dire Straits fan. If nothing else, their albums provide excellent 'value for money'! What I mean by that is that, with most groups, you'll buy an album and get 2 or 3 really good tracks, and 7 or 8 mediocre ones. If you buy a Dire Straits album, every track is worth listening to!

I love Dire Straits, have done since they first started - that prog on Mark Knopfler a few weeks back was excellent (probably not such good memories as mrs O, but hey ho!).

Excellent band. Great combination of intelligent lyrics and amazing melodies. Sadly the worst gig I've ever been to at Sheffield arena many years ago. Awful sound and the band seemed to be giving about 50%. I am pleSed to say I bought communique when it came out Nd have been a fan since.

Great band, my fave is Telegraph Road from the Love over Gold album.
