Oh dear! I'm afraid in my day there was no such thing as a school disco; not at my school anyway. We would see occaisional advert flyers for a 'discoteque' but it hadn't really been shortened to disco except in common speech.
We didn't even have a school dance; and as for a prom! Might have read about them in american magazines perhaps?
