...Have you ever heard a song and thought 'thats rubbish I dont like it' and every time it comes on the radio you go 'oh no not again turn it off''.
Then you hear another version of the same song and you realise its not the song that's rubbish it's the singer and arrangement.
For me the best example is 'Fields of Gold'.By Sting, its tuneless, flat, monotonous,repetetive,and the arrangement is totally boring da-da-da da da-da da da da da.........But the same song by Eva Cassidy.....serene..melodic ..peaceful..quite beautiful....Do you have any similar examples.

now I love the Sting version and hate the Eva Cassidy one
The guy who won X Factor, butchered Many Of Horror by Biffy Clyro.

We used to have a CD playing in our shop of proper songs but not by the original artists and some of those were better than the originals.
