Why is the new Oasis tour important

A.� From The Beatles, Oasis have borrowed haircuts and glasses, but more importantly, a sense of lyrical and melodic strength that still strikes a massive chord in the hearts and minds of the band's audience. From the Stones, Oasis have learned that all publicity is good publicity�- rows with Robbie Williams, fights with photographers, storming off stage and walking out on tours�- the full rock star excess trip has been indulged in by the band. From The Kinks, the sort of mind games that have reduced supporting players to tears have had their fair share of airing in various Oasis dressing-rooms around the world, currently resulting in an uncertainty of exactly how many of the Gallagher brothers will be joining the band for the latest round of songs and such behaviour, as listed.

A.� Critically and commercially, there are few British acts to touch Oasis in terms of musical impact combined with that all important shift of millions of albums.�The band's debut Definitely Maybe became the fasting selling debut album in British musical history, and the follow-ups have met with steady and sustained success through the years.

Q.� When was the actual tenth anniversary

A.� Saturday 18 August was the date ten years ago that the embryonic Oasis took to the stage. Appropriately for such a major Manchester band, their first gig was at the city's famous Boardwalk venue. The tour covers London, Glasgow, and of course what is sure to be a triumphant return to their own home town, Manchester, during October.

Q.� What's next for Oasis

A.� The band are currently writing and recording their next album, which will be release in the New Year, probably followed by a world tour, although details are far from finalised as yet.
