2 more British service men killed in Afghanistan, which brings the total number of NATO troops to die in the month of May to 44.

368 British military personnel have died since operations in Afghanistan began in 2001.

While we are well on our way to open up yet another war zone in Libya, the death rate in what is now becoming the forgotten war in Afghanistan goes on.

Most of the lives lost in Afghanistan have been caused by improvised explosive devices, then why in this day of advanced scientific devises has not some kind of device been employed to detect these primitive but deadly devices?

We have now been there longer than the Russians. It is now looking like an occupation with the fear that if we leave it will revert back to how it always has been.

Hmm, that's around 10% of the number of civilians killed.

And I like your use of the word "operations" - I've checked every dictionary and thesaurus I can find, and none of them offer it as a synonym for "invasion".

back to the old question are we??..our troops are there to supress the ''training grounds'' of al queida..and so to protect the west from further atrocities and that threat is now higher than ever now that bin laden has been eliminated...the war in afghanistan will never become a ''forgotten'' war...

But those training grounds were eliminated 10 years ago. Al qaeda have gone elsewhere. There was no exit strategy to this mission which is why British personel are still being blown to pieces 10 years after the mission was completed.
