I see Paris Brown has done the decent thing and resigned.Surely,for this ridiculous idea,Ann Barnes should follow suit.

She should. On last night's TV news she said that she'd like to think, in hindsight, that she would have done the same again. With that attitude to selecting staff, without due diligence, she hardly sounds fit for the purposes for which she was chosen. If she is as bad in collecting information before making a judgment, she really doesn't seem qualified to make judgments in any matter of relevance and significance

Paris Brown was a silly girl who was totally unsuitable for the role she chose/ was chosen for. The idea itself is not stupid and I would dearly love a go at a job like that.
Ann Barnes made a huge mistake about something which could have been very worthwhile, if she makes mistakes like that then she ought to up her game or choose one with a lower benchmark.

I feel slightly sorry for Paris brown, who although totally unsuitable for the role, had no reason to expect the media circus to descend on her. However, that being said, I find that the fault should lie with the selection panel, and the stupidity of anyone who just posts on ANY social media site without thinking, i.e anything you put on the internet IS there for all time, and it should have been up to the appointing committee to investigate the social media sites to alleviate the discovery of these "views".

As such Ms Barnes should look at the procedures & vetting of all candidates for this role in the future, so as to remove any further instances of this event, with particular reference to historical posts on twitter/FB/flickr, etc.
