Breastfeeding Babies.

What do you think of the idea of new mums in deprived areas being offered £200 in food shopping vouchers if they breastfeed their baby for six months? Surely this money could be better spent. What do you think?

Would this impact on the Healthy Start vouchers that are currently being paid?

I think as it's just a trial/research they won't have decided that yet, B00 - they'll be seeing if it works at all rather than worrying about what effect it has on other programmes.

B00- this is only a trial for research purposes and is only covering 200 people

Yet again a harebrained scheme dreampt up by by somebody with nothing better to do than think of ways to waste tax payer's money ( like child allowance, which encourages young girls to have babies so that they can get their hands on cash & social housing).

Child allowance encourages people to have children???? Really?? It's about £20 a week. Do you know how much shoes cost? And socks and boxers....PE kits, uniforms, trainers...

And lets not talk about the price of food at the moment.

A third area is expected soon with the plan to trial it on 130 women who have babies from now until March.

If successful, a nationwide pilot could be rolled out in England next year"

So yes. But I think they'll leave wondering about interaction with other schemes until they do go global.
