Jackdaw, I think that France ( as well as other european counties ) are still in a state of shock, however I think that in a few days time that state of shock will most probably turn into anger.
I have quoted this on another thread and will repeat it here.

That was my point svejk. We all know about the petty finger pointing and blame everybody else stances that become the norm. Russia had not firmly and publicly declared for Assad. Neither France or Russia had a burning grievance 12 months ago.
