Is The Bbc Controlling Your Mind ?

In his new book;
'Brainwashing Britain?: How and why the BBC controls your mind'
David Sedgwick (Author) Asserts that, 'the people of Britain are under attack. We are being brainwashed. We are being brainwashed completely, ceaselessly and cynically... So just who is doing the brainwashing? How are they doing it and for what purposes?' David Sedgwick’s latest book takes the reader on a disturbing journey deep into the realms of mistruth and deception to reveal, for the very first time, the many tricks and subterfuges used by the British Broadcasting Corporation. Every time we engage with BBC content, the author argues, we are exposing ourselves to a very dark art: the art of brainwashing. Wilful, deceitful and incessant, Orwellian parallels define the modern corporation and should chill the soul of all who cherish freedom and liberty. Mind control is here. This is not fiction. BBC: Brainwashing Britain? is a shocking expose of mass propaganda, its components, and aims. You may never look at Auntie in the same way ever again.'
I'm considering buying a copy for jim.

Here's an interview with Robin Aitken, the author (in Khandro's first link) of "The Noble Liar":

All things are biased, but some things are more biased than others.
Breitbart, for example, is very biased. Is that seen as mind control too? Or is it actually possible to read it and retain one's self will.
> I search the Internet for a variety of sources and get the truth
... where the truth is defined as "opinions that I agree with", e.g. there is a God.

I read a few reviews on that page: I’d say most were favourable as a matter of fact. Two sorts of person broadly speaking I’d say will want to read such stuff: those who love conspiracy theories of the “they’re controlling our lives” variety, and who are willing to believe them. Why? Possibly because it makes them feel somehow superior: “I haven’t fallen for it. I’m better than your average brainwashee” etc etc.
And people who think it’s tosh and read it for the “freak show” factor. They’d probably be in a minority.
I’d be one but not sure I’d want to help fill his coffers.

The book leans heavily on George Orwell’s 1984.
Apparently according to the author, Orwell worked at the BBC in the 1940s and that experience was the basis for 1984 and the Ministry of Truth.
The book incessantly quotes 1984, and asserts the book is proof that the BBC has been a left wing propagander machine since the 1940s.
It is all very far fetched, doesn’t credit Orwell for having an imagination, or credit the British people for having a mind of its own.
I shall not be buying the book. For the record, the author lives in Spain.

Just injuries to the neck? Maybe the Beep Beep See needs an injury to the neck. Cut off the compulsory cash flow.
// The brutal decapitation of 24-year-old Louisa Jespersen of Denmark & 28-year-old Maren Ueland of Norway was filmed by the Islamist perpetrators in an act of brutality that defies description.
Inhuman, evil, sick: while finding words adequate enough to describe this horror seems an impossible as well as futile struggle, Britain’s state broadcaster has faced no such quandary. According to the BBC the two women died due to, wait for it, ‘injuries to the neck . . .’ that’s all, nothing else. Double decapitation of two female backpackers: a fairly mundane everyday occurrence, at least in BBC-land. Certainly nothing to get concerned about, outraged even less.
For reasons best known to itself, the BBC decided not to describe this beheading as . . . a beheading or even a decapitation for that matter: ‘Injuries to the neck.’ In its dishonesty here is a phrase of Orwellian magnitude. Indeed, the broadcaster could have been describing a road traffic accident. Nothing to see here! The BBC version sounds almost as if the backpackers’ horrific deaths were accidental. It certainly seeks to make their grisly fate seem somehow mundane.//

The spiel above presumably copied from here (guess whose book cover pops up on the page: makes you wonder actually)

The author David Sedgewick wrote...

The actual BBC reporting of the murders stated...
// A video apparently showing the beheading of one of the women was shared on social media by supporters of so-called Islamic State, and Norwegian authorities said on Friday //

So the charge aginst the BBC in this instance is fake, which I suspect the rest of the book will be.

One's parents put a child in mortal danger and it is our fault. The other child was on her way home from school...…….to her family.
// Take another example, the tragic deaths of two young children, one in Greece and the other in Sweden. When Alan Kurdi’s lifeless body was washed up on a Greek beach in 2015, along with its mainstream media colleagues, the BBC devoted enormous coverage to the tragic event. Alan Kurdi – his prone body – could not be avoided. BBC correspondents made sure of that.
Yet when schoolgirl Ebba Åkerlund was killed in the 2017 Stockholm terrorist attack, the broadcaster’s response could not have been any more different. Underwhelming at best, indifferent at worst, the BBC wasn’t that interested in 11-year old Ebba at all. While story after story poured out of Broadcasting House lamenting the death of the Syrian boy, the death of the young Swedish girl – mown down by a jihadist when walking home from school – barely registered at the BBC. As of September 2018, the number of stories on the BBC news website featuring ‘Alan Kurdi’ stood at over 120. Meanwhile ‘Ebba Åkerlund’ featured in just a single BBC report. The BBC ensured its audience would remember the name of ‘Alan Kurdi.’ It also ensured the name ‘Ebba Åkerlund’ would just as soon be forgotten.//

Thing is gromit even if there was a grain of truth in Sedgwick’s ramblings how in earth does that constitute brainwashing on even a minor scale. There have been sadly countless beheadings over recent years and for the BBC (or anyone else) to come remotely close to his scenario you’d think the vast majority would have been covered up, laughed off or spun in the way he claims: Ken Bigley for example accidentally fell on a carving knife while in captivity blah blah blah.
It’s bonkers beyond belief.
A very poor second to interviews with killer tourists coming to visit 123 feet high steeples . Mr Sedgwick I guess has little to say about that as there’s no money in staying the *** obvious.

Is the Beep Beep See controlling my mind? Only in so far as making me doubtful at best, and cynical at least, about the agenda that was set 30 odd years ago.
//What then is going on with Britain’s state broadcaster? Hiding some incidents, while creating hysteria over others, who can doubt the broadcaster has an agenda? The BBC is controlling how its audience thinks, feels and reacts. Think about how it routinely attempts to smear UKIP or supporters of Donald Trump as ‘Nazis’ or its most favourite of slurs, ‘far right.’ Think about how it labels democratically elected governments in Poland or Hungary which do not embrace its worldview as ‘hardliners.’ Something is going on down at Broadcasting House//
