There not open per se Emmie , the manager asks his customers to meet there , probably by entering through a back door , to sit and play cards, dominoes and to drink etc
I also cannot see the point of a night time curfew.
Most things people would be out at night for are already illegal..
Bobbi, you know this for sure? if so then report them, because they are being stupid.
Everyone thinks that whatever you do, it will defeat the virus. Everyone thinks that everyone else isn't complying with the rules.

It may well be that whatever action is taken, the virus won't be defeated and infections will continue to rise. So far, all the HFS, SD, masks, lockdowns and tier systems haven't worked. Why does anyone think that they will continue to work, in whatever variation? Well, because it's your fault folks, for not following the rules. It can't be anything else can it? Can't possibly be, dontcha know!

One aspect of this whole thing that no-one dare talk about is the REAL reason for the continued aspread of the virus. Places where three generations of families are living in a small terraced house. Don't want to send the wrong, offensive message out do we folks? Even if it is true.
Have a happy curfew everyone!
Ich people are out breaking the law because that's what it is now, a heavier police presence on the streets during 7-7 would help stop that
are you saying he's not open during the day time, but only at night, seems strange that no on has cottoned on.
That’s not a curfew tho Bobbi it’s just trying to enforce the current rules
The 2 metre rule was an arbitrary number. There was never any science behind it.
If they are having to extend it, then that is because they are finally acknowledging it isn’t working.
The problem is, 3 metres is also just another number they have plucked out of the air.
No science behind it, tinkering for the sake of giving the impression they are doing something.
No Emmie , I've never been out nor do I live near a pub, nearest is about a mile away, it was on the national news last night, I believe the pub was in either Liverpool or Birmingham , the police had been tipped off and they asked for the door to be opened, they didn't comply so battering rams were used for entering
10cs: " So far, all the HFS, SD, masks, lockdowns and tier systems haven't worked. " - what rot, are you saying they've made no difference at all? Rubbish, imagine where the NHS would be if we'd done nothing. The NHS is close to breaking point now, imagine if the number of cases was exponentially higher.
Sunk, before deciding on 2 metres experiments were carried out by seeing how far germs from a sneeze would be carried
I’m inclined to agree with the first part of Clarion’s post.
The criticism of the PM that a lockdown here wasn’t introduced quickly enough looks a bit pointless now.
Sweden didn’t have lockdowns but is now considering them. Some countries did have drastic lockdowns and are as bad as ever again. There does I think have to be an element of “weather the storm” because “turn back the tide” doesn’t really work. I suppose one cannot really say that
oh i see, thought it was somewhere you knew...
Increasing the distance would be because we now know that the thing is becoming far more infectious.
Imagine this, imagine that. What if this, what if that. Look at the figures, which are lies anyway, if you want proof that it hasn't worked. Just go with a curfew. Do it. Make it compulsory to wear a face mask all the time, even indoors. Just do it. Nothing else has worked has it?
The 2 metres was never an exact procedure, it was a minimum distance that should be observed.
Bobbi - just because there was a lock-in on the news, doesn't mean the practice is rife over the whole country. There are far more people gathered around coffee shops during the day than there ever are having lockins at night.
apart from necessary visitors to my home where we all wear face masks there doesn't seem any point in wearing them all the time indoors, who would know anyway, same as those breaking the law by visiting neighbours they aren't supposed to, no one would know.
It depends what you mean by “hasn’t worked”
Plainly they do work to an extent but they won’t eradicate the thing. There seemed to be an idea at first that the virus would go away at least to allow life to return to normal. We are lucky we now have vaccines but it’ll probably be another year at least before it’s in abeyance.
Is April 5th still being touted?
When the figures dropped in the middle of last year, there was no law about wearing face masks. The figures went down when the vast majority of people weren't wearing them. Face masks are not part of the answer.
