Can anyone please explain to me why they are prepared to pay �50 or �60 to watch a crowd of ill-mannered so-called "sportsmen" throwing themselves to the ground and feigning injury, whilst claiming obscene "wages". The pretence of loyalty to a particular club is simply brainwashing. Who but a simpleton can pretend to be loyal to a club when the clubs simply exchange players with each other for enormous sums of money. What Manchester United supporter can continue to be loyal to Renaldo when he now plays for an opposing European team and will use any posible cheating move to overcome MU. I love footbal - the game, that is, not the money-grubbing companies that own football teams - and continue to watch amateur and schoolboy matches although,sadly,the cheating and feigned injury seems to be creepjng into the amateur game now. All of this could be easily changed if only people would refuse to part with their hard earned cash which lines rhe pockets of con-men pretending to be sportsmen.

I think people are prepared to pay so much to go and watch their teams play because they want to and they can afford it and they love going.

Agree so much bosschester.think they should remove the word sport from football.As you say obscene wages , no loyalty to a club , transfer fee scams , refs and their backhanders , and so on.

So why do I
support a premiership team , because I am a big a p88t as the next man or woman.

I think the man in the Aviva advert explains it perfectly, supporting your team becomes a social thing, nothing to do with the money. Sometimes you may not like what is happening, you may even be ashamed of it, but it is still your side, through thick and thin.

Think about it - why do many people like the guy in the advert who I suggest is very typical, supporting a team which will never reach the Champions league, or perhaps never reach even a higher division, still treck miles at great expense to watch and support their team, if it was just about the cash?
