Congratulations to Greg Hancock, World Speedway Champion for the second time, fourteen years after his first title. Has any sportsman gone longer than 14 years between World titles?

How about George Foreman Les?
Think that was 21 years between his Heavyweight World title wins.

That's a great shout mighty, but, although it was 21 years between him winning the title and then regaining it, he was still World Champion for most of that time. I suppose I was really looking for someone in a sport where the World Championship is held yearly (if that makes sense). Thanks again.
reg harris had along break came back and beat all the best young ones

A great achievement by the Greg. Surely this must be one of the greatest sports records ever . The nearest I could get to that is Joe Davis, world snooker champion 1927-40 then again is 1946. He never made a 147 break until 1955.
