feliway and the feline war zone
7 Answers
My two cats are siblings and they mostly ignore each other, but every now and then there is a giant fight and Mexican stand-offs.
I have decided to try the feliway diffuser. I have just been to Amazon and they are about £16 (for a refill) and it says that this is will last 4 weeks. It seems expensive. I don't mind shelling out for the diffuser but to pay that sort of money on an on-going basis is scary. If I was more convinced that it would make a difference I wouldn't be bothered by the cost.
Has anyone tried pheromones to prevent all out war?
They actually started a fight at the top of my stairs and rolled down the stairs in one giant ball of hissing and spitting fur. I've gotten to the stage where I leave them to it - Frankie doesn't seem to be embarrassed at being beaten up by a girl.

Hi Wolf, I used a Feliway plug in a month before I had Little Tiggs for Tigger mainly as she always goes and hides when strangers are around. When people came round to visit Little Tiggs, Tigger would come and mingle with everybody and even let them stroke her. Also, there did seem to be less fighting between her and Blue. I haven't used Feliway since then though as she is quite comfortable around people now :o)
Hope you get your two sorted out soon xxx

I have bought a diffuser on-line and will see what, if any, improvement there is. Most of the time the moggies ignore each other and this means no fighting. But when they start fighting it gets very noisy and sometimes ends in a trip to the vet (or GP) for an involved party.

Wolf, we had one of those feliway diffusers and quite honestly it was a waste of time, it didn't work with our lot. I've found a slipper thrown in the right direction, i.e. to MISS works quite effectively on our little band of ruffians, the slap of the slipper on the floor seems to be enough to distract them from their nefarious activities
