From a letter in today's Daily Telegraph:-
TROUBLE BREWING.
John McDonnell,the new shadow chancellor, states in Who's Who that his hobby is "generally FERMENTING the overthrow of capitalism."
On the assumption that he meant "fomenting" does that mean that in addition to being economically illiterate, he is also literally illiterate?

Well one definition of fermenting is:

"A state of agitation or of turbulent change or development".

So he is right.
