Isn't the article more about whether a Second Vote would tackle far right racism rather than Brexit, per se? Ms Shabi seems to have ignored the anti-semitism problems apparently endemic in the Labour party when she calls for him to get behind the issue.

I would have thought that a second vote would be more likely to incite the so called 'Far-Right' (I would rather describe them as those who support democracy).

Me too. And I almost wrote that the article was contradictory. For example 'A second vote is the only way to confront head-on the bigotry and racism unleashed by Brexit' and then later:
'But one credible progressive case against a second referendum is that it will set this toxic cocktail alight'

Another cart before the horse Guardian skewing of events. In part Brexit was a result of the increasing uneasiness of ordinary people regarding the continued unfettered immigration to the UK, including the illegal immigration. The manifestation of this uneasiness was not a result of Brexit. Still, the Guardian will not let facts hinder a bit of good old fashioned lying.

The last argument against a “second referendum” ought to be that it would effectively be poking some sort of far right wasps nest. That’s just an excuse. As someone said: “does the lion cower under the hovering bovver boot?”

I prefer to call them the far right. The mob listening to Yaxley Lennon ranting about stuff with no relevance to Brexit and intimidating journalists last Friday looked pretty far right to me.
