Does anyone know if Stamp Duty liable on a property sale is levied at the point of exchange or completion? I'm asking because we are having about a month's delay between our exchange and completion, and we will be liable for a huge amount of Stamp Duty which we would rather keep in our account than put into a solicitor's account, until we actually have to hand it over to HMRC,
