He is definitely not the strong leader this country needs at this moment in time. Unfortunately for us all, the choice of PM was very, very limited and he is the one we are saddled with.

It's not really one rule for them and another for the rest - we all have the option to follow or ignore the rules or advice it's just most of us won't be in the public eye being watched doing it. I'm sure there are 1000s who have not isolated when they were supposed to but no-one was noticing. My main criticism is he hasn't the strength to stick to his convictions and frequently bows to the pressure of the public and opposition. Having said that I'm not aware of anyone who could have come even close to doing any better.
//We don’t all have to run the country though do we?//
No we don't. But if those who do want the rest of us to comply with laws and guidance they should do so themselves instead of creating "pilot schemes" which only seems available to politicians.
There is no reason why the PM and Chancellor should not isolate. They have all the communication tools available to contact one another and they don't need to visit hospitals with their sleeves rolled up or car factories whilst wearing a hard hat. There first reaction is "that doesn't apply to us." Maybe it doesn't but they can demonstrate that it should. Otherwise they must not be surprised when many people are doing what they already are - ignoring the rules because, as far as politicians go, they don't seem to matter.
