Non story written with the benefit of hindsight.

That was the general view art the time he died- that he was someone people looked up to, someone who raised lots for charity and inspired others.... the extent of his crimes werent known then (tho there were whispers)
An 11-year-old story.
well It's over a decade ago and I'd hardly call it an "American Perspective" - nothing to see here.
Someone ought to dredge up the threads on here after Savile’s death.
We were advocating renaming Leeds-Bradford airport after him.
john oliver
John Oliver, American?
I'm sure he's mentioned before that he's a US citizen now but he ain't American.
John Oliver is British, but is becoming more and more Americanised. He says ‘aloominum’ and ‘toona’. I love his show, but haven’t seen this episode yet.
Who goes through their old tweets and deletes all the potentially dodgy ones? I didn’t even know you could. I thought once you’d posted something it stays there for ever.
Still. Good excuse to watch his finest moment again.

"Who goes through their old tweets and deletes all the potentially dodgy ones?"

I doubt it'll sink her on its own but it'll all mount up I'm sure.
"John William Oliver (born 23 April 1977)[1] is an English comedian,[2] writer, producer, political commentator, actor, and television host with naturalised American citizenship..."
Now the news stories show the tweet, it would be dead easy for her to delete it. It's here:

It's a bit odd that she leaves it out there.
CloverJo, there was a cricketer a year or two ago who issued some racist tweets when he was 20-odd. To make them noticed he tagged them #RACIST. These came to light afterhe was selected to play for England and disrupted his career for a while and England's planning.

People asked why, before selecting him, the management didn't go through his social media history and just remove the objectionable stuff. I think removal and apology would have satisfied everyone (the same for Truss), because people do understand about hindsight; but the fact that neither did this just makes them look either foolish or obstinate.
