Who Is Really Paying For The Tories Grossly Incompetent Handling Of The Immigrant Crisis?
Rather than process immigrants expeditiously (deporting those not qualifying), the incompetent government is wasting enormous amounts of tax-payer money, putting them in hotels and barges for extended periods.
But who is ultimately paying the price for this?
The answer to that question is the poorest people in the world, who receive our aid; this is because the money spent on the asylum system is considered to be part of our spending on overseas aid.
So as our spending on housing immigrants soars, the amount of money available to help the poorest in the world diminishes.

//this is because the money spent on the asylum system is considered to be part of our spending on overseas aid. //
Does that mean that the ever-increasing amount we spend on the asylum system is deducted from that allocated to overseas aid and therefore less money is going overseas - or is it in addition to that allocation, which would mean the amount spent on that too is forever increasing?

//Thanks LB. In that case the blame can be laid firmly at the door of the thousands of economic migrants coming from the safety of France and posing as asylum seekers.//
Exactly. There is no reason for anybody to travel from France to the UK by unconventional means to claim asylum. The rate at which they are arriving means that no government, of any persuasion, can hope to deal “expeditiously” with their bogus claims. France won’t hear of them being returned there (and in fact are often actively assisting their safe passage to UK waters).
The asylum system is not fit for purpose. It is now being used to facilitate large numbers of people moving to the UK “to start a new life” because they don’t like it where they are. Once here there is little to no chance of them being removed. This would be the same whatever political party held power.
The only way to deal with this expeditiously is to prevent them landing in the first place. Since the hand-wringers that infest government and the Civil Service will not countenance this either, we’re stuck with it and these people – who are simply jumping to the front of the queue of people trying to get here legally – will continue to arrive. But let’s not pretend it would be any different under a Labour administration.

It would be worse under labour, Sir Kier would like an open door policy as would many others.
Lets not forget it is labour MP's and Peers along with Lib-Dems that stonewall any attempt to do anything. Even though many true labour voters (that I know) are just as angry with the situation and would be happy for the economic migrants to be deported.
The only solution is to leave the ECHR and JFDI. *** the hand wringers let them bleat.

If you can process them faster or persuade them not to come here please tell the government.
Meanwhile your precious EU is content to let them risk their lives to get here on unchannelworthy craft despite France getting UK taxpayers' money to do their job properly.
And don't expect sensible suggestions from the hard of thinking pro-migrant lobby, who only suggest making it easier for the invaders to arrive.
Meanwhile maybe tell Sunak a good start would be to withdraw from the ECHR who clearly don't know what a HR is. And maybe to ensure the ECJ has no say in UK matters either.

And yet again the lie is repeated.
The Conservatives have huge majority in the Commons and the Lords. If the Government cannot get something passed, it is because it cannot persuade enough of its own members back it.

I don’t understand how more migrants were arriving in the UK in 2002, and the government of the day did not have a problem; now all of a sudden due to our incompetent government we have a problem.
NJ seems to be blaming the migrants, who have a legal right to claim asylum here – clearly the blame lies with the government; stop making excuses for their incompetence, and call it out for what it is.

Gromit is correct, Labour et al do oppose but we have a majority. Sadly some of them are 5C quislings who side with the opposition. The problem is though any legislation is later thwarted by the trobiscite hoards and blood sucking lawyers with endless appeals. The only way is to pass legislation that is un appeal able and that is very difficult to do.
