This is an awful thread to read. Stop hurling abuse at Gulliver1. If another member had this kind of response there would be outrage that action wasn't taken. Can we all try to be a bit more pleasant and keep to the topic at hand?

Its never going to catch on. Too long. Dosnt even make sense...why would Labour ever consider stopping telling the truth

^

Bobbinwales, apparently that's sort of been tried - see my 15:41 from yesterday. Some folk just can't help themselves 🙄

That was to your 10:40, Bobbinwales.

I get the feeling that people have had their fill of in house tit for tat by politicians on both sides of the house. The cons have spent at least 3 years fighting between themselves with little thought of the problems facing this country. It wouldnt supprise me if there is a very poor turnout at the next GE, to vote either way. The tit for tat back and forth is pretty much pointless and just hacking people off.

OK I'm stopping now ken... if others carry on responding to drivel it'll suggest to me they like the attention just as much as gulliver does

The way the Tories are performing at the moment , it's just a case of which one of them will press the self destuction button to send them into oblivion...Just saying,,, nothing personal intended  OK!

The cons have wrecked their own party, Keir can just carry on doing what he's been doing for the last 3 years, stand by and watch it happen. Sunak did the worst thing he could have done, making 5 pledges he had no chance of keeping. The boats continue to come, and the people of this country are worried for their safety, and of their familes.

//Keir can just carry on doing what he's been doing for the last 3 years//

He isn't doing that now though ... far from it ... and I strongly suspect that could make him rather unpopular.

Very clever on Starmers part when he became leader . The Tories  kept saying that no one knew what he stood for..But the advantage of sitting on the fence, was not giving the Cons attack Sqad anything to attack. And now its too late , the Cons have destroyed themselves.

11.25 I dont believe Starmer is popular by any means. But many just want the cons out, whatever the cost may be. Very much like they wanted to see the back of Boris, Matt Hancock, and many more that have screwed the public, by helping themselves to tax payers money in many cases.

Question Author

Nicebloke 12.05 Boris and Hancock "screwed the public"  they only screwed the ones that they fancied though.

I did attempt to be constructive yesterday...at 17:24...

Politics CSE day 1, never say anything that can be thrown back at you in the first 5 minutes. If Labour did as you suggested, the media would scurry off and dig up every morsel of Labour's dishonesty and it would back fire. What he wants is something like TGL had, "Labour isn't working" or her disciple Tony Blair: "Things can only get better" - they are iron clad, un attackable.

^^ Yep that also.

I hadnt read the BA by the spare ed - when I determined to add a 116th comment asking Gully how he had survived

the onslaught of over 100 posters wishing  he would drop dead

"easily" he  might  have said

how different, how very different to a thin-skinned mod who deletes anything and everything that cd apply remotely to herself

such is  life ! - PP signs soulfully

I did attempt to be constructive yesterday...at 17:24... on the Christmas day before last.... yeah righto

Miss ! Miss ! I mentioned Adlai Stevenson, (*)as originator of the phrase, recycled by a few people.

and er Yes I think Kookie Keir is attempting a Blair -1. keep quiet. 2. suppress everyone's carmie credentials. 3. dont over spend - easy when you are in opposition. and 4. keep quiet again

(*) I thought Adlai S was famous as Nixons running mate in 1960. He wasnt/ That was Cabot Lodge

Question Author

With a Labour Govt "Things can only get Better"

With a Tory Govt.Things can not get any Worse

Than they are now.
