Farage Vs. Johnson Vs The Daily Mail
...where do you stand?
And why?

Basically I think it is daft to intepret agreeing to no expansion as meaning independent sovereign nations can't apply and be accepted by multinational groups. No single nation can expect to have that sort of control over others.
The only sensible interpretation is that NATO and others would not deliberately push for new members in order to expand. Consequently Putin's feeble excuse holds no validity and Farage's view is flawed. It doesn't give him the image of a great clairvoyant but an image of an apologist for Russian aggression.
He may draw a distiction between his erroneous view of causes and actual support for Putin, but it isn't going to be seen that way by the masses.
It was a ridiculous thing to highlight prior to hoping to win seats at an incoming election. He may have ruined getting non-woke citizen representation into Westminster by this gaff.
(Does the DM come into this at all ?)
Farage may be right in that whatever has happened in the West has rattled Putin into showing how big and powerful he and his country are.
Putin is not a rational person. The West is just getting on with things as normal. Putin is in the wrong.
I , as you can tell, have no basic understanding of politics.
I base my view on logic and what is right and what is wrong.
Larry for PM!π
The politicos are of an educational level to understand the difference between 'explanation of' and 'justification of'. They are choosing not to do so, for political reasons.
Makes me wonder if this was the reason behind losing Eng. Lang. and Eng. Lit. as separate subjects years ago.
Farage simply explained the reasons why Putin acted as he did. Farage also said that he found the invasion of Ukraine repugnant etc. etc.(hope I got the word right, but he wasn't in favout of it).
If you wish to destroy a society, destroy its language - 'newspeak', remember.
It makes sense that Putin would see the eastwards expansion of NATO & the EU as a threat.
We may have no evil intent towards Russia but Putin might think that more liberal thinking will infiltrate into Russia & cause unrest against his tyrannical regime.
He would feel compelled to react to that & his MO is brute force.
