The University of Roehampton has warned undergraduates taking a module on medieval and Renaissance gods and heroes that they will encounter ‘some images of nudity’, including in Botticelli’s iconic painting, The Birth of Venus.

Presumably whoever in that university decided that students need protection from such images is considered to be intelligent - which calls into question the yardstick by which the powers that be measure intelligence.   Personally, I think such crass stupidity is an insult to anyone's intelligence.

It's only the same as the commentators of live football matches apologising for any foul language their pitch-side microhphones may have picked up.

Let's face it, anyone who has ever attended a football match knows that not everyone present can't speak a little French, now and then.

Apparently, if they don't apologise, the station gets lots and lots of 'Angry, from Accrington' or 'Disgusted, from Devon' letters. Sheesh!

In which case the trigger warning should be for 'Angry, from Accrington' and 'Disgusted, from Devon' to turn off immediately because the station isn't interested in pandering to their oversensitivity issue.

Utterly ridiculous and the more this nonsense persists, the more examples come to the fore, and the more circumstances occur which 'someone' thinks need to be flagged up in case they are triggering for some delicate little flower....

Good old mail for telling people what To be outraged about.

Surely only they could consider Those 15 words as a " trigger warning"

It's nothing to do with being woke.

It's pre-empting stupid complaints from easily offended religious types.

Same as how they have to give a warning at the start of any TV programs that may contain 'violence, strong language, and scenes of a sexual nature'.

Good Mail spin though to get their readership frothing at the mouth.
