They would walk into office if they would just come up with a few common sense policies along the lines of stopping immigration, restucturing the human rights act, change the laws that lead judges to dole out ridiculously lenient sentences or compensate criminals for no good reason.
IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!

I agree entirely. Unfortunately they seem to be trying to gain favour by making what they feel are the right noises, particularly by jumping on the 'Green' bandwagon. Whilst that is an important issue, there are other things that need addressing urgently, such as those you mentioned. Common sense doesn't seem to be part of the make-up of most politicians. Could it be because they just don't listen to the electorate?
'restructuring' the human rights act?
you don't like rights then mariner2?
i hope they bang you up for terrorism or something ridiculous.

I don't like ALL of it - parts like criminals being able to bleat for pretty much anything they like while they are in prison because the denial of it "infringes their human rights"

It's being abused and you know it, and I'll run the risk of being banged up for terrorism, but I stand a better chance of being killed by a real terrorist that we haven't been able to touch because of his precious human rights.
You're right Mariner2. The Human Rights Act is being abused - no doubt about that!! Some common sense wouldn't go amiss.

And I take it milkybarkid that you'd back every claim of 'human rights' you come across?

He probably thinks the piece of **** that killed tha2 year old has some human rights too, well sorry, but I beg to differ.
Maybe he does mariner2. Perhaps he'll let us know.
wow those are some lovely assumptions mariner2. i just think taking away people's civil liberties on the off chance that they're a terrorist is a little wrong, and the government are abusing it.
and why would i think the peice of sh1t who killed that 2 year old deserves anything more than what living in this country guarantees? because i believe people who havn't done anything deserve rights? i hope he rots in jail for the rest of his life.
Question Author
But that's my point, he won't rot in jail will he?
Lord Longford campaigned to get Myra Hindley released and nearly succeeded and I think it's only a matter of time before some idiot in Brussels decides that being locked up at all infringes human rights.
It just needs an application of common sense, not the assumption that squads of secret police will go around snatching innocent people off the streets never to be seen again if we put the slightest restraint on civil liberties.
the tories won't follow policies which will enable them cake walk into office because they are more scared of their masters in the shadows then they are of the electors
