Why is the USA so powerful ?

I expect I am in concord with the majority on here, and would wish to see a greater presence of liberated advanced democracies like Chad, Ethopia, and Somalia, but what always puzzles me and what I am always reading on here, is, why is the USA so damned powerful ? Why can't these nations rise up and defeat the oppressor.

So why, why is the the USA so powerful ??????

Well the Us is in effect the only super power at the moment

Which is strange because there is someone who has a population half as big again as the US, A GDP 25% larger, indepentant nuclear forces and armed forces with nearly nearly twice as many men as America.

Not China but Europe .

America will continue to be the most powerful nation on the planet simply because Europe cannot get it's act together - too many people would rather whine about "straight bananas" or metrification to see past the end of their noses to what Europe could be.

It is a direct result of the Glorious Revolution. The power of ideas.

Chad, Ethiopia and Somalia are devastated by civil war, unrelenting factional terrorism, genocide, religious totalitarianism. Somalia in particular is controlled by roving gangs with allegience to various and numerous murderous chieftans. Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Syria, Iran interfer shamelessly in the affairs of Chad, Ethiopia and Somalia and never to any positive consequence. I would not hold up C, E & S as touchstones of liberty. And without liberty, you cannot have democracy, no matter what the propaganda of the elites.

It is nice to think that the European Union could be powerful, but it chooses not to be. China is growing in influence and it has the will to project its ideas. Iran has been very powerful for a very long time, whether Europe noticed or not, and it has the will to project its ideas.

China, Iran, the European Union and increasingly the USA all have difficulty lately "going in one direction."

But I would not count out India as the real rising star. That is my odds-on favorite for the future.
