Odd that we dont seem to get posts from SP. Gromit and Jake.

Is it that the civil service, and hence the chatering classes, now have to do some work?

Interesting responses, to what I deem to be a legitimate question, I've also locked horns, and agreements from those three over the years, although I'm sure I saw a reply to a question from sp a few days ago.
Yes, SP has certainly been active (with a vengeance!) recently:

Here are the last time they asked a question, jake seems to be the longest one gone.

Jake is a girl...
George Orwell would be proud!
Interesting AOG. I think though some people are serial questioners or answerers. I think I would put you under the former whereas Jake seemed to give answers especially scientific ones where he had great knowledge.
Jake's a woman???

Well blow me down...I did not know that.

No - I don't work for the civil service, and in the area that I DO work in, would never want to, as the public sector is badly underpaid in my area.
Sp...have a look here. At jackthehats and BOOs answers...

"Jake was "active" on Sunday"

Oooh behave etc.
AB started to feel samey and one of my new years resolutions was not to waste as much time on it. There were also a lot of new posters, so it seemed right to give them a chance

Also, I find the Coalition Government a bit of a joke so I generally agree with the criticism of it. In the past, if the last Government were being criticised and I thought unfairly, I would defend it. With this lot, I would find it hard to raise the energy to pyt a case for them.

And I have always worked in the private sector and still do. I have never been a civil or public servant. Saying that, times are harder and cannot justify wasting my firms time as much as I used to do.
jake the peg claims to be male - not to be confused with jack the hat, who doesn't. I think he's got some sort of scientific job, which doesn't sound like the civil service to me. sp1814 isn't a civil servant either, and Gromit runs a major tea-cosy importing business.

Apart from that, I suppose the OP is correct in every detail.
Is there much of a demand for the foreign tea cosy?

sandyRoe, Mexican ones are very chic right now. Next month it'll probably be Burundi.
I'm afraid the bottom has fallen out of the importing tea cosy market. The Bedouin craftsmen who hand knit them out of camel dandruff are too busy rioting.

I have had to diversify into memory foam underpants.
are you sure they don't knit them out of yoghurt, cos that aint been said in a while. at least 2 or 3 days.
/// I have had to diversify into memory foam underpants.///

I always wondered where you kept your brains Gromit. :0)
Another AOG unprovoked offensive remark. The reason this site is going down the pan.
