Preggie Tums
Why do preggie girls (usually the very young ones) now expose their bumps for the world to see.
I think it's great to be proud to be expecting, but I personally don't want to look at big preggy tummies, complete with belly buttons sticking out, with piercings, and the expectant mums sporting hipster jogging bottoms and crop tops! Neither is it flattering to see figure hugging Tshirts stretched over the bumps.
Yes, this grumpy old lady, is very bored today, hence two slightly similar questions!

What's wrong with a nice voluminous flowery smock for heaven's sake? No, seriously I wouldn't wish those on anyone but there are plenty of lovely tops to cover & flatter preggy tums. Maybe they should look in one of those 3 way mirrors & see just how bizarre they look. And please don't keep forcing them on us in TV ads - that one for Dove with the awful tune 'you gotta have skin...' puts me off my food.
You know we're going to be banished to the twilight home for the miserable old f*rts don't you FP?
Couldn't shunt over and make room for another one in the 'retired rockers' home, I'm joining you!!
I think this trend started with the Spice Girls, when they started producing the offspring and it has remained.
Unfortunately it is not just confined to the younger 'Mum to be'. A neighbour of 38+ has just had her little boy and dressed in the same manner throughout her pregnancy!
FP, just in case we get banned I wanted to say how much I've enjoyed being a 'grumpy' this weekend. (You can blame me for mentioning thongs in the first place). Will think up some more for next weekend.....
Cetti, how about you? You always seem so quiet & peaceful but there must be something that winds you up. Come on - get it off your chest!
I don't see anything particularly offensive in an exposed tummy, I must admit. Whether that tummy is pregnant, fat or taught, it doesn't affect how I feel about it. The current trend for hipsters and cut off tops will surely pass, and something new (and probably just as odd) will replace it. I got pregnant at 33 and didn't expose my tummy during that 9 months (swimming pool excepted) but then, I didn't wear tummy showing tops pre pregnancy, or after. I absolutely loved being pregnant tho, so I probably would have worn tummy revealing tops had I been the kind of person who wore them before hand. I can understand why folk aren't too keen on a pregnant belly button on show I guess....mine really went a bit weird towards the last few weeks.
Thongs....the devils work.
