£600 million that's almost as much as we pay them in benefits for non existant children, as claimed by Pakistanis living in this country . It will buy quite a few BMWs and roadside bombs.

well then modeller, DC has a lot of common sense. Cut the benefits on the ***-avoidance/fraud over here and give the money for better purposes to help deter terrorism in the long run over there.

A stroke of brilliance and, in doing so, he can take the 650m that he is using out of the money they have committed for overseas aid as the G20 promise to meeting the 0.5% of GDP to go on foreign aid.(i.e. that is a sunk, committed sum).

Therefore, the fraudulent money recovered over here passes back into the school budget, pothole mending, or whatever in the UK spend.

First of all this money would be given over the period of 4 to 5 years. Then Pakistan has lost over 35K people (security personnel & Civilians) since 2001. The way Pakistan's economy has lost in billions and country as whole has suffered and been devastated since so called "war on Terror" these millions are not even fraction and would not do any good. If you ask public there they believe it would be better for Pakistan to refuse from accepting anything from USA & Britain and rethink Pakistan's involvement in this never ending war.

But unfortunately corrupt rulers will never do that as their own interest, families, businesses, wealth and more is in the western countries. They only go there to rule otherwise do not live there. Therefore have no concern what so ever with education etc in Pakistan. They would grab this money with both hands and would transfer it straight back to their personal banks accounts here.

Good points Eddie // these religious schools are very often the only form of education available in the more remote areas. // but what education is it ? They have to learn by heart every word of the Koran 10 hours a day. Is that education ? Brain washing would be a more correct description. Imagine having to learn the Christian Bible by heart . It turns you into an unthinking robot. Its not surprising many of these Madrassas are preparity schools for the terrorist camp next door.
If Pakistan was genuine about combating terrorism they would close down all those Madrasses and turn them into ordinary schools. In fact the reverse is the case you can't even be considered for many jobs unless you have had the Koranic education.

Unfortunately our country is also moving in that sort of direction . Nothing is more divisive than religion but our government encourages more and and more faith schools. In my area we have 12 different faith schools and ghetto areas. We are storing up trouble for the future.

Amazing how Cameron can produce this money when our departments have been cut to the bone some by 40%. Has he got a private war chest he can dish out from No 10? He has spent £bns of our skirmish in Libya but the MOD has seen drastic savage cuts.

He should be made accountable for all these expenses he's incurring!
