I work in a school and see very little consequences when a pupil behaves badly, in fact quite the opposite....they are allowed to spend time out of the classroom playing games in the computer room.
It is time that actions had consequences.....if A happens then B allows follows....if A is bad then B should be equally as bad....if A is good then B should be equally good.
A big part of the problem is that Mummy and Daddy often try to win a popularity contest instead of instilling respect and discipline into their children.
A parent's job is to give their children roots so that they can grow their own wings.
Far too often blame is misplaced by the wrong-doers and of course, we must keep in mind their 'human rights'....oh don't get me started on that one..
If you want rights then you first have to show responsibility.
The human rights act should be repealed and also the 'where there is blame there is a claim' attitude should be done away with.
It is way past time to take responsibility for our actions, whatever age we are.

Time this black on black knife crime was sorted.
The relatives of the victims call for knife crime to end, but don't possess enough faith in the police to take action, and their own community justice isn't the answer.
And in the end the trouble is that the police are frightened in case they start off another Brixton type riot.

Redhelen, of course. Anyone who resorts to using knives, for whatever reason, regardless of colour or creed is a savage and probably a sociopath to boot.
My instinct tells me that any person who has used a knife against another is beyond help as it gets easier to use the more one does. For a solution one needs to go back to the parenting and schooling and history shows - as this mantra is usually brought out on these occasions - this won't happen as both the Schools and the Parents of these people need remedial help first.

No - the word 'savages' would not have been used to refer to white-on-white crime.
Pit simples, there cer people from a certain people from (ahem) a particular demographic, who will settle on the word 'savage' when referring to people from another (ahem) demographic.
I say - ignore the racist connotations of the wording used, and focus on the core of the question...which has many answers (to do with policing, sentencing, schooling, housing and expectations).
It one of those questions that has too many answers to respond to effectively.

No-one is fooled.
The race of the suspects is in the link you provided.
This is how it goes...certain people when reading a report about a white mugger who robs and beats up an old lady, they would ask:
"What kind of person commits such a savage crime?"
If the suspect is black, these same 'certain people' would ask
"Lopk at the savage who beat up this poor woman"
The difference is...normal people use the word 'savage' as an adjective, and bigots who want to reintroduce it as a synonym for black criminals use it as a noun.

/// say - ignore the racist connotations of the wording used, and focus on the core of the question...which has many answers (to do with policing, sentencing, schooling, housing and expectations).///
So nothing to do with the 'savage' who stabbed to death an innocent 15 year old boy, who was only trying to defend his younger brother?
Black, white, pink or blue, educated in a state school or Eaton, living in a flat or a mansion, no matter what their expectations, are all no excuses for killing a person.

You're quite correct and I withdraw my accusation. There are others on here who exclusively use the word 'savage' to describe black criminals and who subsequently (and sneakily) started introducing the word to describe white criminals when other AB members pulled them up on it.
I think you're more Jeremy Clarkson, than Nick Griffin (yes, that WAS supposed to be a compliment).

I assume you are referring to me, as the originator of the word 'Savages' on AB, let me first explain to some of our newer ABers.
A while ago, I described a number gangs of black gang rapists as savages, due to their savage rapes on young girls one of whom had a Intellectual disability, and one who had acid thrown over her in a bid to get rid of their DNA.
These crimes sp1814 tried to cover up by accusing me of using a racist word, although this word is used extensively throughout news reports on vicious crimes.
I have used the word many times but sp1814 accuses me of sneakily starting to introduce the word to describe white criminals when other AB members pulled me up on it.
Well I have this to say to sp1814, if I enter questions on particular vicious and un-speakable crimes I will continue to use the word 'SAVAGES' be them black, white or strawberry colour.
In my vocabulary the word 'savage' is never going to become a no, no, racist word, and even if some consider it to be not quite PC or racist, that is their problem.

It's a shame race was bought into this, but it is every thus by those with an agenda to distract away from the real problem, much as highlighted by I.Don.
We need stricter penalties. If you take a life you should forfit yours. OK the anti capitlalists whine about possible mistakes so ok I will settle for life in jail, preferably outsourced to Thailand or Turkey.
This coupled with parental responsibility, no more communities within communities and we will start to get there.
The attitude of many of today's tearaway kids is that the world owes them a living. The so called 'celebraty' culture has alot to answer for on that, together with as previously parental responsibility being diminished. Noo labour laws giving kids so many rights is the root of much of this.

What a good idea youngmafbog (interesting tag!!). The Government is all for saving money so instead of doing what Kenny seems to be doing that is not jailing criminals, send them off to prisons in Countries such as you mention it's no different to the principal of exporting our call-centres and they will be looked after "properly". I bet very few will re-offend in a hurry!!

Yes Heaven forbid anyone should spoil your fun by mentioning the numerous innocent people pardoned since the 1950s from life sentences who would have been wrongly killed by the State if the 'string 'em up' mob had their way.
Never mind the hypocrisy of claiming that the taking of a life is a crime - and then doing the same in cold blooded retribution.
And never mind the overwhelming evidence that the introduction/removal/reintroduction of capitol punishment has no effect on levels of deterrence.
