So Sarah Ferguson has not been invited to the wedding , due to some negative publicity .

But look - The Crown Prince of Bahrain is one of the wedding guests .

Well that's allright then .

I don't think I'd invite my Uncles ex wife to my wedding either...
Berti - not odd really, I am sure he will bring a better present...hahaha

You seem to have missed the point behind the post ?
I think it odd that they have got their exes going.
Fergie might get rat-arsed and spill the beans on them all, legs akimbo while doing the Hokey-Cokey,,LOL
Catherine and William have the say in most not *all* of the guests........many are protocol/political invitations. I suggest the latter is one of those.

Of course i'm aware that it is a political decision - but hey - why let a little human right misdemeanours ( allegedly) get in the way of protocols
It's the same group of back-room spineless, chinless wonders who arranged the State visit by Mugabe.........
just like the Duchess of Pork, over-privileged, thick, chinless wonder.
I'd suggest that a) is a personal decision and b) is a State decision - I heard the other day that some king or other hasn't replied to his invitation so maybe all kings or their equivalent get invites.
state decision or not, nothing connected with the royals amazes me any more, except the one fact that this country is not a republic. We have put up with them for too long now and paid too much of our tax pounds to fund their undeserved life styles.
Well said IDN.................it's amazing why 70% of the population still want to keep them.
Is their Uncle Spencer on the list? I couldn't spot him,
Yes, he is on the list
I've just been reading about him, he's as close to the groom as any of the other Aunts and Uncles I guess, plus all his kids will be alot older now too. Actually just checked and his first 3 are 20 and 18 years old.
craft 1948....nice to know there are more like me out there!
I think it even stranger that they have invited the ex partners to the wedding as well.
I can't think of to many people who would want ex boy/girlfriends at the wedding.
tigerlily.....'tis the royals we are on about....therefore insanity was bound to rear its head!
craft // ..it's amazing why 70% of the population still want to keep them. //
There are many reasons : 1. 80% of the tourists who were asked why they came to Britain mentioned the Royality and all the pageantry that goes with it. Nobody goes to the US or any other republic because they have a president. 2. Our security costs are a fraction of the costs of protecting presidents and all their ex-presidents. 3. We have one coronation and the odd wedding .
.4. Presidents are elected every 4 yrs and each time it costs bilions.
5. A single monarch with no real power to interfere with parliament , she can give our PM the benefit of her experience based on a lifetime of meeting heads of states , quite simply she gives us stability .
6. Presidents interfere , can and do overide the peoples parliament.
7 . All over the world and especially in the US they are churning out memorabilia
for the wedding because of the interest in our royality. I have US friends coming over for the same reason.
8. Here in the UK thousands of people are employed directly and indirectly by virtue of the fact we are a monarchy with a long royal history.
We might criticise them at times and it is accepted . You try doing that in many of the republics in the world . I am not a Royalist for the sake of it , it is because I can not see a better system in the world . I should add all my Asian neighbours say the same .
I'm embarrassed now...............I went for the irony again............and failed dismally :-(
