As with Afghanistan an Iraq, our objectives do not seem very clear, and we do not seem to have an exit strategy.

Tunisia and Egypt didn't need our help to oust their rulers. And other despots in Syria and Bahrain are left alone. It seems libya was seen as an easy target, but the mad tyrant clings to power.

The whole adventure seems ill judged and poor value for money. So much for cutting the deficit.

What is not clear is how much would have been spent anyway, forces on standby need training and paying for, and how much is extra.

Not really. I went on the demo against the Iraq war. It didn't make sense in 2003, and it certainly didn't make sense in 2011.

That was the largest Demo that has ever happened in this country and 1 million turned out. Rather than hindsight, it was great foresight.

You get the feeling our top politicians, like failed gamblers, put their last few pounds on a horse, hoping that a winner will solve all the problems.

With Britain in such dire straights Cameron is using what wealth we still possess to throw at a lost cause to add to his legacy.
