President Obama and the Queen
Is the Queen being roped in to do work normally carried out by the Foreign Office? Last week it was Ireland and now US/Britain relations.
Does this show that Ministers such as Haigh, Fox and Cameron are not up to the job?

Is that a statement of the obvious or what.
Given that Presidents / Prime ministers have a fixed term in power or have to go to the electorate if they want to continue in office ( in a demoracy at least )
Does the Queen have any restriction placed on how long she can remain the Monarch ?

As others have said, protocol dictates that a Head of State must be greeted by (and regarded as the guest of) the Head of State of the host country.
For example, if President Obama was to visit Germany his official host would not be Chancellor Angela Merkel (who is effectively in charge of the country) but President Christian Wulff (who many people, outside of Germany, have never even heard of!)
