It happens in all classes. Why do women stay with men that beat them? Why do women stick by men who are in and out of prison?

Because they love them? Scared? Could be loads of reasons but it happens no matter what the bank balance.

But to say that a woman deserves it because she stayed with a cheat is like saying a woman deserves a beating because she was too afraid to leave after the first one!!

Den....you have it wrong.........the number of infidelities is defined by the number of times that you are caught...e.g if you have had or got 3 mistresses and have only been caught once........then you have only been unfaithful once....NOT 3 times....;-)

Well thats even worse, Sqad - to do that behind the wife/huband's back and think you can get away with it, shows no respect for that partner, in my opinion. I know there may be lots of reasons for people, playing away from home, but I think, if you are not happy at homewith your chosen partner, then leave.

My friend's husband was a semi pro football player - he cheated on her when their son was 3 years old. She forgave him. He promised not to do it again. They moved house, after 2 years, she began to build up her trust of him again, and fell pregnant -had a beautiful daughter - when the baby was not even a year old, he cheated on her again. Her life fell apart, she felt such a fool for trusting him.

It took a long time for her to rebuild her life, I sat with her many days and nights, got her to go out, we joined evening classes, etc - but she did, she rebuilt her self asteem and eventually she remarried and has been so for 15 years now. When she looks back, she realises what a doormat she was, and even thinks there may have been other women she knew nothing about.

Maybe 'infidelity' is less important to her than to you lot- not everyone lives by your standards some people have dangerous opinions of their own formed without ever once consulting the chatterbank community.Fancy that!
